| A Degree from the University of Guyana or its equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution |
| A Diploma from the University of Guyana with a GPA of not less than 2.0. |
| At least five (5) subjects at CXC/CSEC (General Proficiency), grades I, II, or III or IGCSE/GCE 'O' level, grades A, B, or C. Subjects must include English Language and Mathematics |
| Ordinary Diploma in Commerce (ODC) from the Government Technical Institute (GTI). |
| A Trained Teachers" Certificate from (CPCE), plus two (2) subjects CXC/CSEC/IGCSE/GCE 'O' level. |
| Industrial Relations and Management from the Institute of Distance & Continuing Education (IDCE), plus two (2) subjects CXC/CSEC/IGCSE/GCE 'O' level. |
| Industrial Relations and Social Studies from Critchlow Labour College (CLC), plus two (2) subjects CXC/CSEC/IGCSE/GCE 'O' level. |
| Mature students (21 years and over) plus four subjects at CXC/CSEC/IGCSE/GCE 'O' level, creditable work experience, together with a pass at the University of Guyana Entrance Examination (UGEE). |
| Any other qualification considered by the University to be equivalent to any of the above. |
